It had been a fantasy she had often played with: The novel is short and an easy read, but the story is told in such a way that its depth is obvious. Her husband Sandeep is another character you start feeling for.

Malladi’s other books a try in the near future. Prakesh was scheduled to pick Anjali up at the train station. The strength of the characters made this book an excellent read for me.

It goes from one narrator to the next every other chapter and it can get confusing from time to time of who is speaking.

Books by Amulya Malladi. Waiting at the Maladi train station for her husband Prakash to pick her up, young Anjali could never have guessed that his forgetfulness would alter the shape of her life.

This is a very touching story told by 4 narrators which are the main characters including Indu, the second wife of Prakash showing how their relationships interfere with their own lives. Have heard of the ftesh, but not about the books she has written. It also showed how alike we are with universal themes in terms of family relationships, the healing that goes with forgiveness, and the strong bonds of friendship.

The Bhopal tragedy continues to affect them, however, since their now year-old son was born with damaged lungs and a weak heart, and every penny they earn goes to his care. However, when an author uses a real event from history, I think q purpose is to offer commentary and I didn’t feel like the author gave any other perspectives on how the tragedy affected people other than these few. It’s kind of poetic, as it’s more true to life. Their voices are clear and strong.

I’m ashamed to say that I’ve never heard of the Bhopal Disaster prior to reading this book. My first book by this author. Anjali’s struggle to deal with everything life has thrown at her when Prakash keeps interfering in her life and causing her more grief is moving and easy to relate to.
